Pest Animal Control and Training (PACT) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, and how your information is handled as part of nationally recognised training.
PACT delivers nationally recognised units of competency under a partnership arrangement with Fireground, RTO No. 42145. Fireground is the registered training organisation responsible for issuing your qualifications and statements of attainment, and certain obligations described below apply to Fireground as the RTO.

Why we collect your personal information
We collect your personal information so we can process and manage your enrolment in a vocational education and training (VET) course, deliver your training and assessment, verify your firearms licence status where required, communicate with you about upcoming workshops, and meet our legal and safety obligations.
What we collect
The personal information we collect may include:
- your name, date of birth, postal address, email address and phone number
- your unique student identifier (USI)
- firearms licence details or, where you are not licensed, information required for a P650 application
- emergency contact details and any medical or accessibility needs relevant to your safe participation
- training and assessment records, including results and statements of attainment
- enquiry and enrolment correspondence, and website enquiry form submissions.
How we use your personal information
We use your personal information to deliver VET courses to you, to administer your enrolment and assessment, to keep you safe during practical firearms activities, and otherwise as needed to comply with our obligations and those of our partner RTO.
How we disclose your personal information
Your enrolment and training records are shared with Fireground, RTO No. 42145, as the registered training organisation issuing your competencies.
Fireground is required by law, under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act), to disclose the personal information collected about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.
Fireground is also authorised by law, under the NVETR Act, to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.
We may also disclose your personal information to:
- the NSW Police Firearms Registry and the Firearm Safety and Training Council, where required for pre licence safety testing and firearms licensing
- funding bodies and partner organisations, such as Local Land Services and Landcare groups, where a workshop is delivered under a funded program and reporting is required
- service providers who help us operate our business, such as our website host and email provider
- any other person or body where required or authorised by law.
How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information
The NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts, administration of VET, facilitation of statistics and research relating to education including surveys and data linkage, and understanding the VET market.
The NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government department responsible for skills and training, Commonwealth authorities, state and territory authorities other than registered training organisations that deal with matters relating to VET, and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:
- administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
- facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
- understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information.
The NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER behalf.
The NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.

The Australian Government department responsible for skills and training is authorised by law, including the Privacy Act and the NVETR Act, to collect, use and disclose your personal information to fulfil specified functions and activities. Surveys
You may receive a student survey which may be run by a government department or an NCVER employee, agent, third party contractor or another authorised agency. You may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.
Website, cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not function as intended. Information submitted through our enquiry forms is used only to respond to your enquiry and to manage your training.
Storage and security
We store your personal information securely and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Training and assessment records are retained for the periods required under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations and related record keeping obligations.
Direct marketing
We may send you information about upcoming workshops and courses. You can opt out at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
Access, correction and complaints
At any time you may contact us to:
- request access to your personal information
- correct your personal information
- make a complaint about how your personal information has been handled
